I am a member of the
British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and I follow its Ethical Framework in my practice. I also adhere to the
General Data Protection Act 2018 (GDPR), so I recognise the security of your personal information and, as a result, minimise the risk of a breach of confidentiality. When working remotely, I reduce risk by keeping my computer and phone secure.
If there is a serious risk of harm to yourself or another person, I may break confidentiality. Furthermore, if a child is in danger of harm, confidentiality will also be broken; this legislation is detailed in the
Children's Act 2004. I am also required by law to break confidentiality if money laundering or terrorism is revealed
(Money Laundering and Terrorism Act 2017).
In addition, I have a current enhanced
Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, and hold full professional liability insurance.
